Getting back to normal… whatever that is.

The 30 – Day Challenge ended last Sunday. Here is a collage including all of the paintings. It was a fun challenge. I’ve made all of these into hand-painted greeting cards . They are for sale in my gallery.

I’m really hooked on flower art. I’ve not taken a break. I’ve made two more since last Sunday.

Am spending a lot of time daily writing. I am mainly working on posts for my (relatively) new blog, The Helpful Blogger. I am currently writing and posting a series on YO-YO DIETING. It explains what it is, what it does to us, and the post on Monday will give tips on how to design a lifestyle that supports weight loss, weight management, and overall health.

There’s so much to cover on this topic, I’ve decided to write a longer piece on it that will probably develop into a book.

The Boys…

The Boys are doing fine. They are participating in the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop put on by The Cat on My Head oh. Here’s their selfie for the week.

Yes, they always work hard on their Easy Like Sunday poses.

Have a Great day everyone!

hugs, Bugsy, Knuckles, and Lou

A Bloomin’Good Time

I am right on track this time with the 30 in 30 Painting Challenge. Today I will post Day 23. This year, I am painting 10″ x 7″ paintings on 140-pound watercolor paper, then folding them in half to make 5″ x 7″ hand-painted greeting cards. Here are a couple of the most recent.

The Boys have been very helpful throughout the process.

Hope you all have a great day… We’ll write more in another week when the Challenge is over.

Art News

Here are the latest from the 30 in 30 Painting Challenge…

Lots of flowers. Hope your life is full of them too.

What we’re doing…

We have been busy getting stocked up for hurricane season. We were surprised by Gordon last week. He didn’t come directly at us, but we got a surprise visit by enough rain to make me write out a list of supplies. They say there are several cyclones out in the ocean that may turn into tropical storms or hurricanes, so time to prepare.

Everything else is going fine here. Found a restaurant in town that has The Impossible Burger on its menu, so I tried that out and will be reviewing it soon on

From The Boys

As usual, we are participating in the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop put on by The Cat on My Head blog.

Look…I’m the same size as HH’s sketchbook. She could just trace me… Easy-peasy portrait…lol.

Have a great day,

hugs, Bugsy, Knuckles and Lou (HH)

Days 4 and 5 of the 30 in 30 Painting Challenge

Day 4… This one is pen and ink on 140 -pound watercolor paper. Lots of ink. Haven’t drawn one of these in a long time. Enjoyed it.

Day 5… This one is acrylic paint on gallery-wrapped canvas. After 4 days of close work, I needed a day to paint loose. Felt great!

Thanks for stopping by.

Day 1: September 2018 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge

Day 12018-08-31-20-48-01

Today’s topic: It’s September 1st and my friend and fellow painter Sheila has talked me into another 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. Today is the start, and here is Day 1
If you haven’t heard about the challenge, several hundred painters from around the world commit to paint and post a painting a day for the month of September.
This year I have chosen the theme of abstract flowers using mixed media of acrylics and mark-making tools, and I will paint on 10″ x 7″ 140-pound watercolor paper, and my intent is to study shapes of flower parts and their surroundings in the process.
Enjoy and check this space for daily paintings for the next 29 days… I’m not shy to say that a painting-a-day is a push, so would be grateful for any words of encouragement you can spare as the month progresses.  And… the challenge is open to all. So, check it out (google : Leslie Saeta) and join in if you like… And, yes, I’m probably crazy to do this… LOL! 🌾🌱🌾😁 Happy Day #1!
(P.S. 😔 posts for the rest of the month will be shorter. This one is long as it’s the intro.)
