Christmas is Just Around the Corner
Are you ready for Christmas? I am… and yet, I wait. Do you do the same?
What I mean is….it seems that when something big is coming up — like Christmas or a trip to the dentist — I sort of rush to be ready for the event, then, once ready, close down until it’s over.
With the dentist, it’s just the morning of the appointment that I spend sitting and waiting for the appointment to be over before my day starts. That’s not so bad. Just a lazy morning watching tv.
Christmas, however, is another deal altogether. I’ve been ready (and consequently waiting) for Christmas since Thanksgiving. Yet, I continue to wait until it’s over to re-start my daily life. What is that about? Do you do the same?
And while I’m waiting, I dream up new, life-changing goals to be addressed once Christmas releases its hold on my life. And, the day after Christmas, I end up overwhelmed by my list of goals… LOL Only 3 more days to go…
I’ve never found a cure for this. Suggestions?
I am the world’s worst procrastinator so I can be of little help. Also, since I celebrate Chanukah (which falls at the same time as Christmas this year)………I can’t help there either lol! Guess I am just totally useless. Anyway, enjoy!
WE just do as much as we CAN… and let the rest GO un done… We sort of Focus on the REAL meaning of the Season… and then dream of when all the Decorations are Back in their Boxes fur their 11 month SLEEP.
Excellent philosophy and comment.
This Christmas seems to have really snuck up on us. We’re ready as we’ll ever be…but honestly, didn’t really do much planning to get there.
We are the same…. We’re ready because we’re not doing much…Maybe it’s a de-stuffed Christmas this year. …lol and mol
Yes, there is a way…have some catnip and roll on the floor for a while, it works wonders!
Excellent idea….!!!
We loved Brian’s idea. Mom is always rushing around at the last minute when it comes to Christmas (except for this year), even though she always has the shopping part of the holiday completed months ahead of time. Loved the cartoon. We’d love a tree like that. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Once I get the Christmas sewing finished, I am looking for my next project. There never seems to be a hurry till the first of the year.
My human is never ready for anything! So she is no help.
I had a big smile on my face when I saw the tree full of cats on it.
