IT’S CHECKERS’ BIRTHDAY!!!!

Bugsy Here:  It’s a Happy, Happy Day over here at the condo.  It’s Checkers’ Birthday and we’ve surprised him with a party. Full disclosure: Checkers is not a real mouse… He is a cartoon mouse, but is just as deserving of a birthday celebration as any of us. After all, he narrated our book and filled in for us while we were in the Caribbean… and he’s like a brother to us.

So, we decided to honor him with his own birthday party… and for everyone who comments and wishes Checkers a Happy Birthday, HH has agreed to give $1.00 to the North Brevard SPCA… So tell all your buddies to rush over for the commentathon (lets put the pinch on her purse).

The Story of Checkers in Brief…

Checkers came to live with HH even before we did.  He found himself lost one day and when he couldn’t find his way home, he decided to look for a new home.  Living in Florida can be dangerous for little guys — what with alligators and such lurking around. So, Checkers knew he had found the home of his dreams when he saw the three-story condo.

CheckersRedPantsSMSo he happened to knock on HH’s door first and was pleased when she took him in.

At that time, he wore red shorts all the time, but when The Boys came to live with HH, they kept mistaking Checkers for their ball, cuz it was red too. So, HH made him some checkered pants and starting calling him Checkers, and that fixed that.

So, Happy Birthday Checkers…. we love you …

CheckersCakeSMOh…. and unfortunately, Checkers couldn’t reach the candles, so we helped him blow them out.  Do not worry…. he got to make the wish, though.
