Rejection is a part of every writer’s life and every artist’s too. For both, it’s important to learn how to keep working despite rejection.
When we finish writing a book or painting a picture, we expect the world to fall at our feet. When that doesn’t happen, we are crushed. I once received a rejection on a manuscript before I received the postal confirmation slip telling me the editor had received it. Now, that’s rejection!
The road to success measured by public acceptance is bumpy. Here’s my tip to smooth it out a bit… and excuse me if this is a simplification that does not pay the bills (I do know that the money side of it is important)… first and foremost, be happy with what you’ve done. You must be your #1 fan.
Amen Lou! You have to like yourself/work and that is what counts!
I love today’s painting

Wise, wise words and so true. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
My human looks at it this way: the road to failure is just as bumpy, and a lot less rewarding.
