The Voice – Part 2
( To bring you up to date in case you didn’t hear, Knuckles tried out for The Voice and he turned all four chairs with his rendition of the Etta James classic At Last. He chose to be on Pherrell’s team.)
That was a happy day… Today’s news is not quite so happy.
After an exciting week of practice with Pherrell and the team, Knuckles confidently walked onto the stage for the Battle Round….
The crowd cheered. He waved and Carson Daly introduced him and his opponent. Here’s what happened next, point by point:
–the orchestra started to play the intro music
–the lights dimmed and the spotlight lit a big red circle in the middle of the stage
–Knuckles looked at the red circle, then at his opponent then at Pherrell then back at the circle.
–Knuckles’ eyes crossed … Confused, the world stood still, then his mind SCREAMED…
RED DOT…. GIANT RED DOT
–Knuckles flew through the air.
–the crowd gasped then went silent as Knuckles landed splatttttt…in the middle of the stage
Despite the fact that Knuckles’ career as a singer ended in that one little moment of bad judgement, he came home happy because he got a huge hug of sympathy from Gwen Stefani. AND because Pherrell felt so bad about losing such a great singer that he gave Knuckles his hat….
What could be better than that?
