SERENDIPITY
6″ X 6″ – acrylics on panel
word inspiration from Roger Wedegis (Thanks Roger)
At times, things just happen. Dictionary.com defines serendipity as: an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident. This painting is named Serendipity because it just didn’t grab me and I was about to paint over it.
Instead of painting over it, I decided to put some soft leveling gel it just to see what would happen. I had been meaning to test out the leveling gel for some time. Since this painting was a goner as far as I was concerned, I decided to experiment. I applied the gel and was disappointed. It covered the painting in a dull milky film.
I put it aside to dry and forgot about it. Then, the following day, Sheila said, “Wow, I really like that one.”
I turned around to see what she was looking at and discovered that my painting had resurrected itself. My eyes met vibrant colors and the mysterious blending of them. So.. here it is…. a painting saved by soft leveling gel…. a desirable discovery made by accident for sure.
Have a great day.
Love how it came out!!!
Thanks….. love the gel….
