Let me introduce Checkers to you. He’s the faithful friend of the kitties, Yellow Cat and Yellow Bird in my KittyScape paintings. Checkers, always wearing his checkered pants of course, is in every painting. Sometimes he’s just by my signature, but at other times he’s right in there with the rest of the characters who frequent the KittyScapes.
I painted him on a panel for one of my paintings in the 30 in 30 challenge because he had never been featured in a painting by himself. Although he is always a star to me, I thought he should know that he, too, is important enough to have his own portrait.
