Yesterday was Christmas. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Personally, I’m glad it’s over. Always after a big holiday, I ‘m ready to get back to the business at hand.
It’s only natural to use the time between Christmas and New Years to take a look at the old year, to determine what worked and what didn’t, and to determine what I’ll do differently in the new near. Right off the bat, I realize that I didn’t reach my goal of finishing Max’s second book this year. It’s getting there, but it’s not finished and I thought it would be. So, the first order of business in 2012 is to put in the time and get My Tenth Life out there.
I think my productivity issues boil down to time management. I spend lots and lots of time on my blogs. I have six of them and for the life of me I can’t make myself give any of them up. I have three books in the works and for the life of me, I can’t make myself give any of them up. I love photography and am taking art classes, and for the life of me, I can’t make myself give either of those up. So, I have this wonderful problem of being stuck with all these things I love and seemingly not enough hours in the day to do it all.
So, my priority for the new year is to learn to manage my priorities. If I’m forced to choose, the books come first. Now, I know they didn’t in 2011, but in 2012, that’s the deal. So, I’ll spend time first on books, next on blogs, and third on art and photography. That should be manageable. Meet me back here next year and I’ll let you know if my new priorities worked.
What are your priorities for 2012?
